Tech-Athon 2023 "Engineers for the Society"
The project of the 3D HAND' team is to design a cutting-edge prosthetic hand with advanced functionalities, providing an affordable solution that adapts and evolves alongside growing children. The team comprises six exceptional members, each bringing unique expertise. From the faculty of Management, Vo Thi Hoang Ni contributes valuable input from the economic and management domain.
Tech-Athon 2023 "Engineers for the Society", powered on 26-28 of May by Warsaw University of Technology, Doctoral School and CEZAMAT - is a meticulously organised event encompassing a marathon of research work on innovative ideas submitted by teams of PhD students. This competition's primary objective is to harness diverse disciplines' collective potential to maximise the realisation of novel concepts. More specifically, the contest aims to foster the development of solution prototype concepts by WUT doctoral students in biomedical engineering, photonic technology, cyber security and data analysis, and energy conversion and storage.
One of the five victorious teams in the competition is 3D HAND, which has secured funding to prepare a prototype solution for the forthcoming Demo Day scheduled for the following year. The core idea behind their project is to design a cutting-edge prosthetic hand with advanced functionalities, providing an affordable solution that adapts and evolves alongside growing children. 3D HAND aims to enhance the lives of children needing prosthetic hands by combining modularisation and personalised movements facilitated by VR technology. The team comprises six exceptional members, each bringing unique expertise. Vo Thi Hoang Ni, from the Faculty of Management, contributes valuable input from the economic and management domain. Jan Tracz lends his profound knowledge in aerospace engineering, while Ewelina Drelich brings her expertise in Biomedical Engineering. Filip Włodarczyk excels in applied optics, providing valuable perspectives in this area. Lastly, Krzysztof Popielski and Katarzyna Matys-Popielska bring their biomedical and mechatronics engineering knowledge, further enriching the team's capabilities.
